Kancheepuram Short Story

Kancheepuram Story

The silk industry in Kancheepuram is one of the fastest-growing industries in India. The industries currently employs more than 30,000 wavers in art of saree making. The industry had to complete with the synthetic fiber industry in many aspect, and it was on the brink of extinction due to the obsolescence of the designs and designs adds splendour to a saree and forms an integral part of its exquisiteness. This may also be true for many handloom saree producers in different parts of the country.

The introduction of computerized  Jacquard border design in Kancheepuram silk saree has helped in the revival of the industry. The use of computer-aided design has not only helped in creating new and complex design but has also reduced the time involved in creating new and the design. There has been an increase in the export.

The acceptance of the silk sarees by the consumers has also increased with the automation of the designing process. The Visualization of saree design ahead of its production and the ability to create new colour combination at the click of the mouse has increased the Flexibility and reduced the time for realizing new design. Though the materials and the techniques are changing with the market demand, the motifs are still conventional to maintain the custom and tradition of the Kancheepuram saree. The silk industry in Kancheepuram has transformed into a high-growth industry by opening up new avenues for the traditional weavers. The example illustrates that computer-aided design can help the renewal of the traditional industry provided the new technology is simple to use, and the user, and the user are trained compatible with the traditional manufacturing process properly.

THE BLEND OF RIGIDITY AND FLEXIBILITY IN THE PROCEDURE FOR AMENDMENT

The Blend Of Rigidity And Flexibility In
The Producer For Amendment

  • The procedure for amendment is 'rigid' in so far as it requires a special majority and a special procedure.
  • There is no separate body for amending the Constitution, as exists in some other countries (eg., a constitutional convention)
  • The State Legislature cannot initiate any Bill or proposal for amendment of the Constitution.
  • Subject to the provisions of Art. 368, Constitution Amendment Bills are to be passed by the Parliament in the same way as ordinary Bills.
  • The procedure for joint session is not applicable to Bills for amendment of the Constitution.
  • The previous sanction of the President is not required for introducing any Bills for amendment of the Constitution.
  • The requirement relating to ratification bu which the state Legislature is more liberal than the corresponding provision in the American constitution. The latter requires ratification by three fourth of the state.
  • The amendment of Art. 368 in 1971 has made it obligatory for the President to give his assent to a Bill for him after its passage by the Legislature

WHAT CAN I GIVE????? (by APJ ABDUL KALAM)

I would like to share one event which took place on the last evening, 24th July 2007 of my life tenure at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, which is the house of the President of india. I went around all the gradens. Cretain beautiful event occurred during the visit and also unique scenes flashed througth my mind. I composed the poem on an integrated way depicting all that i saw and imagined. The name of the poem-------What can i give.

1.
One evening, a beautiful evening
I was in a mission of thanks giving
To my families of nature.
Reached the hut in the Mughal Garden
In the midst of the dense banyan grove.
Herbal fragrance filled all around,
Musical fountain with rhythm of Shehnai.

Hundreds of intoxicated parrots by the music.
One young banyan tree, talked to me''O! Kalam
in all seasons, with trunks rooted on earth
We absorb all the heat in the mid days
We give shelter to so many birds.
Give shade and cool breeze
To animals and humans all around.
What man gives, tell me Kalam,''

''O my young friend, you have given
A grat message of Giving,
Continue your God's mission of giving and giving.''

2.

Suddenly many parrots came and sat
All around the branches of the tree
in the serene banyan grove,
Lighted the place beautiful and glittering.
One Parrot, shot a question to me;
''We 'the parrots are beautiful!
As your poetic words picture us
O Kalam, can you fly on your own?''
''O! No my friends, you are blessed,
Continue the mission of spreading happiness.''
My human pride completely melted.

3.

A new scene emerged
With a family of eght peacocks and peahens,
Surrounding me seated in the hut
Three of the peacocks with fully unfurled wings,
Danced and danced, it was a heavenly sights,
Never seen, three peacocksin my graden,
All dancing in a place same time,
Time stood still.
A younger one looked at me
''Kalam sir, can you remember me?''
''O friend, you are alike.''
The peacock said, i was the one lying semiconscious
in front of your office, you brought the doctor, Sudhir
You touched me with kindness.
Then i did not know anything,
Except i was on the operation table of Sudhir.
The tumor in my throat was removed.
Medicine givien and i was fed and cured.
The docoter handed over me to you,
You blessed me and let me fly.
In Biodiversity park with happiness rising
Today Kalam sir, we gave you
A final thanks giving dance.''
''O my young friend,
God has blessed you with
A great quality called gratitude
Continue spreading it where you go!''

4.
Entered into the bio-diversity park
Deer heards with their little ones
They ran and ran,
The laeder marching with horns straights,
Glanced at me and said ''I am the leader of the deer''
There was a formation of deer,
The horned leader leader was bowing his head
Then a miracle happened.
One lovely deer, a young one slowly and
Slowly advanced towards me,
And started licking my hand
Looked at me and said

NUCLEAR WEAPON-FREE WPRLD IS THE MISSION OF MY LIFE ( by APJ ABDUL KALAM )

DIMENSIONS OF SPIRITUAL
SCIENCE
DFEE
Nuclear wepon-free world is the mission of thw life

Now i would like to recall the time i spent with a revered Saint who is an epitome of peace. My first experience with Acharya Mahapragya was at Adhyatma Sadhna Kendre, at around midnight at Mehrauli in Oct 1999. Onthat night, he prayed three times with his distinguished Jain monks forthe welfare of the nation and the people. After the prayers, he gave a divine message to me,
which still reverberates in the my mind. He said ''Kalam, God bless you for what you have done
with your team. God Almighty has bigger mission for you and that is why you are here with me today. I know our country is nuclear nation now. The mission for you is greater than what you and  your team have done, and it is greater than any human being had ever done. The nuclear wepons
are proliferating in tens and thousands in the world. I command you and you only with all the divine blessings at my disposal to inevent a 'peace system' and find a solution to make the same nuclear weapons ineffeective, insingnificant and politically inconsequential.'' When Acharyaji fini-shed his great advice, there was a pin drop silence. It appeared to me as thouhg the confluence of
heaves concurred with the saintly message. The command shook me for the first time in my 68 years of life ( I was 68 at that time). It has since then become a challenge working on me and has
become a motto of my life.
